Le SIM (Système d’Interconnexion Modulaire) Amphenol Air LB
The Amphenol Air LB SIM (Modular Interconnection System) is
a modular multicontacts, multifunctional rectangular connector in
metallic or composite versions , shielded or not. SIM connectors
are qualified according to the EN 4165 spec.

It consists of standard or flange mount receptacles that can be assembled
side by side on a panel, standard or rack and panel plugs, easy remov-
able click-in modules.

The SIM 2D and SIM 2B (shielded versions) provide an attenuation of 50
dB at 100 MHz and 30 dB at 1 GHz.

The modules are in thermoplastic and overmoulded silicon elastomer.
The modules include a polarization system. There are two types of
modules :

Modules are inserted from the back of the receptacles or plugs.

Modules can be manually inserted in the shell compartment, but have to
be extracted with an appropriate tool (see page 61).

Contacts are inserted through the rear elastomer surface. In the grommet
are three elastic barriers to ensure a hermetic sealing onto the cable.
On the mating side, sealing is ensured thanks to the overmoulded elas-
tomer on the pin modules.

system by inserting when assembling and extracting when disassem-
bling with tool P/N 006101 000 00 (page 61).
