DEVICE DESCRIPTION  
FEATURES  
Sm all outline SOT23 package  
The ZR4040-5.0 uses a bandgap circuit  
design to achieve a precision m icropower  
voltage reference of 5.0 volts. The device  
is available in a sm all outline surface  
m ount pa ckage, idea l for a pplications  
where space saving is im portant, as well  
a s p a c ka g e s fo r t h r o u g h h o le  
requirem ents.  
TO92 style package  
No stabilising capacitor required  
Typical TC 20ppm /°C  
Typical slope resistance 0.33Ω  
2% and 1% tolerance  
Autom otive tem perature range  
Operating current 60µA to 15m A  
The ZR4040-5.0 design provides a stable  
voltage without an external capacitor and  
is s ta b le w ith ca p a citive lo a d s . Th e  
ZR4040-5.0 is recom m ended for operation  
between 60µA and 15m A and so is ideally  
suited to low power and battery powered  
applications.  
Transient response,stable in less than  
10µs  
APPLICATIONS  
Battery powered and portable  
equipm ent.  
Excellent perform ance is m aintained to an  
absolute m axim um of 25m A, however the  
rugged design and 20 volt processing  
allows the reference to withstand transient  
e ffe cts a n d cu rre n ts u p to 200m A.  
Superior switching capability allows the  
d e v ic e t o r e a c h s t a b le o p e r a t in g  
conditions in only a few m icroseconds.
