Applicable TFT-LCD module
This specification applies to the color TFT-LCD module, LQ057V3DG02.
Overview
This module is a color active matrix transmissive LCD module incorporating amorphous silicon TFT (Thin
Film Transistor).
It is composed of a color TFT-LCD panel, driver ICs, control circuits and power supply circuitry and a
backlight unit. Graphics and texts can be displayed on a 640 x RGB x 480 dots panel with 262,144 colors by
feeding 18 bit data signal (6bit/each of R,G,B), 4(four) timing signals, +3.3V DC power supply for TFT-LCD
and AC power supply for backlight.

PWM Dimmer function
・ PWM Dimmer function can be available by inputting PWM pulse into a PWM terminal and changing
the duty ratio of Hi/Lo.
( PWM = High : ON , PWM = Low : OFF )
・ Please do not make the PWM terminal in a floating state ( no input state).
Please be connected to the GND at the waiting time.
・ Please input PWM signal after VLED(12V) is supplied.
・ Please turn off VLED(12V) after PWM signal is stopped.

[Note9-1] Definitions of viewing angle range:
The best viewing angle of this module is slightly leaned to 12 o’clock from normal line (θ11direction in the figure
above).

[Note9-2] Definition of contrast ratio:
The contrast ratio is defined as the following.

[Note9-3] Definition of response time:
The response time is defined as the following figure and shall be measured by
switching the input signal between "black" and "white" alternatively.
[Note9-4] This parameter should be measured at the center of the screen and 30 minutes after turn-on.
The characteristics are measured when the driver circuit is not powered (normally white).

10 Display Qualities
Please refer to the Outgoing Inspection Standard.
11 Handling Instruction
a) Be sure to turn off the power supply when inserting or disconnecting the cable.
b)Our TFT-LCD module is designed to be fixed to the hardware with mounting holes on 4-corners on the
backside. Be sure to design the cabinet so that the module can be installed without any extra stress such
as warp or twist.
c) Since the front polarizer is easily damaged, pay attention not to scratch it.
Blow away dust on the polarizer with antistatic N2 blow. It is undesirable to wipe off because a polarizer
is sensitive. It is recommended to peel off softly using the adhesive tape when soil or finger oil is stuck to
the polarizer. When unavoidable, wipe off carefully with a cloth for wiping lenses.
d) Wipe off water drop immediately. Long contact with water may cause discoloration or spots.
e) When the panel surface is soiled, wipe it with absorbent cotton or other soft cloth.
f) Since the panel is made of glass, it may break or crack if dropped or bumped on hard surface.
Handle with care.
g) Since CMOS LSI is used in this module, take care of static electricity and ensure the human earth
when handling. Observe all other precautionary requirements in handling components.
h) Since there is a circuit board in the module back, stress shall not be impressed in designing and
assembling. If stress is impressed, there arises a possibility that circuit parts may be damaged.
i) Protection film is attached to the module surface to prevent it from being scratched .
Peel the film off slowly , just before the use, with strict attention to electrostatic charges.
Blow off 'dust' on the polarizer by using an ionized nitrogen.
j) The polarizer surface on the panel is treated with Anti-Glare for low reflection. In case of attaching
protective board over the LCD, be careful about the optical interface fringe etc. which degrades display
quality.
k) Direct sunlight on LCD panel may cause degradation of panel quality. Do not expose the LCD panel to
direct sunlight. Lightproof shade etc. should be attached when LCD panel is used under such
environment.
l) Connect GND to 4 place of mounting holes to get stable against EMI and external noise.
m) When handling LCD modules and assembling them into cabinets, please be noted that long-term
storage in the environment of oxidization or deoxidization gas and the use of such materials as
reagent, solvent, adhesive, resin, etc. which generate these gasses, may cause corrosion and
discoloration of the LCD modules.
n) Liquid crystal contained in the panel may leak if the LCD is broken. Rinse it as soon as possible if it gets
inside your eye or mouth by mistake.
o) Notice: Never dismantle the module , because it will cause failure.
Please don't remove the fixed tape, insulating tape etc that was pasted on the original module.
(except for protection film of the panel and the crepe tape(yellow tape) temporarily adhered on the
module.)
p) Be careful when using it for long time with fixed pattern display as it may cause afterimage.
(Please use a screen saver etc., in order to avoid an afterimage.)
q) Adjusting volume have been set optimally before shipment, so do not change any adjusted value.
If adjusted value is changed, the specification may not be satisfied.

r) If a minute particle get into the module and adheres on an optical material, it may cause display
irregularity issue, etc. Therefore, fine-pitch filters have to be built into cooling and inhalation hole if you
intend to install a fan.
s) Liquid crystal can be damaged by ultraviolet light. Be sure not to operate or storage under direct sunlight
or strong ultraviolet light for a long time.
t) Please storage modules in ambient temperature if possible. Below the storage temperature, liquid crystal
can freeze and damage the LCD paenel. Above storage temperature, it can irreversibly turn into isotropic
state which cannot work as display.
