The MC D 3130SS magneto-
optical drive delivers an
industry-leading capacity of
1.3 gigabytes on a single,
rewritable 3.5" disk.
Fujitsu takes magneto-optical (MO ) technology to
a new level with the MC D 3130SS, the world’s
first 1.3G B 3.5" magneto-optical drive. This state-
of-the-art, high-performance SC SI drive stores up
to 1.3G B on a single MO disk, provides a 28
millisecond seek time, and boasts a Mean-Time-
Between-Failure (MTBF) of 120,000 hours.

The MC D 3130SS optical drive provides high-
capacity and high-reliability storage. It is ideal for
users who require high density and performance
for multimedia, audio, video, archiving or
industrial applications such as medical imaging
and engineering. With data transfer rates up to
5.9MB/sec., this drive meets the requirements of
today’s demanding applications.

MSR enables the drive to read and write to 1.3G B
disks at nearly twice the linear bit density, while
maintaining full compatibility with conventional
MO disks.
